Dekret über die Akropolis (sog. Kallias-Dekret)

[ἔδ]οχσεν τι βολι καὶ τι δέμοι· Κεκροπὶς ἐπρυτάνευε, Μνεσίθεος ἐ‒[γ]ραμμάτευε, Εὐπείθες ἐπεστάτε, Καλλίας εἶπε· ἀποδναι τοῖς θεοῖς[τ]ὰ χρέματα τὰ ὀφελόμενα, ἐπειδὲ τι Ἀθεναίαι τὰ τρισχίλια τάλαντ‒[α] ἀνενένεγκται ἐς πόλιν, hὰ ἐφσέφιστο, νομίσματος hεμεδαπ. ἀποδι‒[δ]όναι δὲ ἀπὸ τν χρεμάτον, ἃ ἐς ἀπόδοσίν ἐστιν τοῖς θεοῖς ἐφσεφισμ‒[έ]να, τά τε παρὰ τοῖς ἑλλενοταμίαις ὄντα νῦν καὶ τἆλλα ἅ ἐστι τούτον[τ]ν χρεμάτον, καὶ τὰ ἐκ τς δεκάτες ἐπειδὰν πραθι. λογισάσθον δὲ h‒[οι λ]ογισταὶ hοι τριάκοντα̣ hοίπερ νῦν τὰ ὀφελόμενα τοῖς θεοῖς ἀκρ‒[ιβ]ς, συναγογς δὲ τλ λογιστν ἑ βολὲ αὐτοκράτορ ἔστο. ἀποδόντον[δὲ τ]ὰ χρέματα hοι πρυτάνες μετὰ τς βολς καὶ ἐχσαλειφόντον ἐπει‒[δὰν] ἀποδσιν, ζετέσαντες τά τε πινάκια καὶ τὰ γραμματεῖα καὶ ἐάμ π‒[ο ἄλ]λοθι ι γεγραμμένα. ἀποφαινόντον δὲ τὰ γεγραμμένα hοί τε hιερ‒[ς κ]αὶ hοι hιεροποιοὶ καὶ εἴ τις ἄλλος οἶδεν. ταμίας δὲ ἀποκυαμεύε‒[ν το]ύτον τν χρεμάτον hόταμπερ τὰς ἄλλας ἀρχάς, καθάπερ τὸς τν hι‒[ερ]ν τν τς Ἀθεναίας. hοῦτοι δὲ ταμιευόντον ἐμ πόλει ἐν τι Ὀπισθ‒[οδό]μοι τὰ τν θεν χρέματα hόσα δυνατὸν καὶ ὅσιον, καὶ συνανοιγόν‒τον καὶ συγκλειόντον τὰς θύρας τ Ὀπισθοδόμο καὶ συσσεμαινόσθο‒ν τοῖς τν τς Ἀθεναίας ταμίαις. παρὰ δὲ τν νῦν ταμιν καὶ τν ἐπισ‒τατν καὶ τν hιεροποιν τν ἐν τοῖς hιεροῖς, hοὶ νῦν διαχερίζο[σι]‒ν, ἀπαριθμεσάσθον καὶ ἀποστεσάσθον τὰ χρέματα ἐναντίον τὲς βολ[]‒ς ἐμ πόλει, καὶ παραδεχσάσθον hοι ταμίαι hοι λαχόντες παρὰ τν νῦ[ν]ἀρχόντον καὶ ἐν στέλει ἀναγραφσάντον μ̣ιᾶι ἅπαντα καθ’ ἕκαστόν τετν θεν τὰ χρέματα hοπόσα ἐστὶν ἑκάστοι καὶ συμπάντον κεφάλαιο‒ν, χορὶς τό τε ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον. καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν ἀναγραφόντον h‒οι αἰεὶ ταμίαι ἐς στέλεν καὶ λόγον διδόντον τν τε ὄντον χρεμάτονκαὶ τν προσιόντον τοῖς θεοῖς καὶ ἐάν τι ἀ[π]αναλίσκεται κατὰ τὸν ἐ‒νιαυτόν, πρὸς τὸς λογιστάς, καὶ εὐθύνας διδόντον. καὶ ἐκ Παναθεναί‒ον ἐς Παναθέναια τὸλ λόγον διδόντον, καθάπερ hοι τὰ τς Ἀθεναίας τ‒[α]μιεύοντες. τὰς δὲ στέλας, ἐν αἷς ἂν ἀναγράφσοσι τὰ χρέματα τὰ hιερ‒[ά, θέ]ντον ἐμ πόλει hοι ταμίαι. ἐπειδὰν δὲ ἀποδεδομένα ι τοῖς θεοῖς[τὰ χρ]έματα, ἐς τὸ νεόριον καὶ τὰ τείχε τοῖς περισι χρσθαι χρέμασ‒[ιν ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒ ‒]

Beschluss von Rat und Volk; die Kekropis hatte die Prytanie inne; Mnesitheos warSekretär; Eupeithes war Vorsitzender; Kallias stellte den Antrag: dass man (zurück)zahle den Götterndie geschuldeten Gelder, nachdem für Athena die dreitausend Talente auf die(Akro)polis gebracht worden sind, die beschlossen worden waren, in einheimischer Währung; dassman zahle aus den Geldern, die für die Rückzahlung an die Götter beschlossen worden sind,sowohl die jetzt bei den Hellenotamiai befindlichen als auch die sonstigen, die zu diesenGeldern gehören, und die aus dem Zehnten, wenn sie eingegangen sind. Berechnen sollendie dreißig Rechnungsbeamten, die jetzt (amtieren), die den Göttern geschuldeten (Beträge) ge-nau; das Zusammentreten der Rechnungsbeamten soll der Rat bestimmen. (Zurück)zahlen sollender Gelder die Prytanen gemeinsam mit dem Rat, und sollen sie ausstreichen, so-bald sie sie gezahlt haben, nach Überprüfung der Tafeln und Urkunden und sonstirgendwo anders befindlicher Schriftstücke. Vorlegen sollen die Schriftstücke die Pries-ter und die Tempelpfleger und wenn ein anderer solche kennt. Dass man Schatzmeister durch Loswähle für diese Gelder, wenn die übrigen Ämter (gewählt werden), so wie die (Schatzmeister) derheiligen Gelder der Athena. Diese sollen als Schatzmeister fungieren auf der (Akro)polis im Opistho-dom für die Gelder der Götter, nach Kräften und Gewissen, und öffnenund schließen die Türen des Opisthodoms und gemeinsam sie versiegelnmit den Schatzmeistern der Athena. (Nach Empfang) von den jetzigen Schatzmeistern und den Vor-stehern und den Tempelpflegern in den Heiligtümern, die derzeit (die Gelder) verwalten,sollen sie abzählen und abwiegen die Gelder in Anwesenheit des Ratsauf der (Akro)polis, und die erlosten Schatzmeister sie entgegennehmen von den derzeitamtierenden, und auf einer Stele aufzeichnen, nach jedem einzelnen derGötter getrennt, die Gelder, die jedem gehören, und von allen die Gesamtsumme,getrennt Silber und Gold. Und in Zukunft sollen aufzeichnen diejeweiligen Schatzmeister auf eine Stele und Abrechnung über die vorhandenen Geldersowie über die für die Götter eingehenden, und wenn etwas ausgegeben wurde während desJahres, vorlegen den Kassenbeamten, und Rechenschaft geben. Und von den Panathenä-en bis zu den (nächsten) Panathenäen sollen sie den Abrechnung geben, genauso wie die Schatz-meister der Gelder der Athena. Die Stelen, auf die sie die heiligen Gelder aufzeichnen,sollen die Schatzmeister auf der (Akro)polis aufstellen. Wenn an die Götter (zurück)gezahlt sinddie Gelder, soll man die überschüssigen Gelder für die Werft und die Mauern verwenden- - -

The Council and the People decided. KekropisVII was in prytany. Mnesitheoswas secretary. Eupeithes was chairman. Kallias proposed: to repay to the godsthe monies which are due, since the three thousand talents which were voted for Athenahave been brought up to the acropolis, in local currency. The repaymentshall be made from the monies which have been voted for repayment to the gods,that which is now in the hands of the Greek Treasurers and the rest which is part ofthese monies, and from the proceeds of the ten-per-cent when the collection of that is sold. Let the thirtyaccountants now in office reckon what is due to the godsaccurately, and let the Council have full power for the convening of the accountants. Let theprytany together with the Council repay the monies, and delete the records whenthey have repaid them, seeking out the boards and the writing tablets and anythingthat may be written anywhere else. Let the priests andthe religious officials and anybody else who knows reveal what is written. Treasurersof these treasures shall be appointed by lot when the other officials are appointed, as with those of thesacred treasures of Athena. Let these keep the treasures of the gods on the acropolisin the Rear Chamber as far as is possible and righteous, and let them join inopening and closing the doors of the Rear Chamber and in sealingwith the treasurers of the treasures of Athena. Obtaining the treasures from the current treasurers and thesuperintendents and the religious officials in the sanctuaries, who now handle the treasures,let them measure and weigh them out in the presence of the Councilon the acropolis, and let the treasurers appointed by lot take them over from the currentofficials and inscribe everything on a single stele, godby god, how much treasure belongs to each, and the total of the whole,silver and gold separately. And for the future letthe treasurers in office inscribe on a stele and give an account of the treasures in handand the income of the gods and anything expended during theyear, to the accountants, and let them render their accounts. And let them give their account fromPanathenaia to Panathenaia, in the same way as those responsible for the treasures of Athena.The stelai on which they inscribe the sacred treasures let the treasurersplace on the acropolis. When the monies have been repaid to the gods,the remaining monies shall be used for the dockyard and the walls - - -- - -
